This method is called Listening and Spoken Language Therapy, or LSL.
See and Hear Listen Grads Interact and Talk About Their Experiences
In this video, hear Listen Grads talk about how LSL has allowed them to live a normal life and fully interact with the world around them.
There have been many times when she has announced how thankful she is that she can hear and speak. She truly appreciates the gift.

Listen’s Kids in Action
What Makes Listen’s Listening and Spoken Language Therapy (LSL) Unique?
Actions speak louder than words. See some of Listen’s kids in action, using their learned skills to listen and talk.
Each of these kids experience profound hearing loss at a young age. Through the help of Listen’s Listening and Spoken Language Therapy, these kids were able to find their voice and now have the skills to successfully integrate into their communities and function as independent individuals.
Thank you for providing the funding for speech therapy for kids like me. When I first started, people couldn’t understand me and it was very frustrating! Now I can talk very well. Thank you for helping me enjoy my life.

News and Stories

Listen Foundation Welcomes Todd Hallberg as New Executive Director
From Todd:
I’m honored and excited to step into the role of Executive Director at the Listen Foundation. This organization holds a very special place in my heart—my son, Derian, is a proud graduate of the Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) therapy program. Our family’s journey through the program was life-changing, and it inspired in me a deep commitment to supporting other families navigating hearing loss.

Listen, Talk, and Sing Classes
Listen Foundation is pleased to announce a new parent-tot music class. Following is an explanation from Krissa Britsch:
“Listen, Talk and Sing is a well-established program that provides classes to parents and their children (age birth to 3). The curriculum is research-based and follows developmental norms for children. After taking classes with my own children, I saw the compatibility between Listen, Talk and Sing and the Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) philosophy. Listen, Talk and Sing is a way of allowing various professionals (speech therapists, music therapists, etc..) to use the Listen, Talk and Sing curriculum…. with small groups of up to 4. The more I learn about Listen, Talk and Sing, the more I believe it will be a beautiful compliment to the LSL approach and allow us to bring something innovative to the Denver Metro population we serve.”

The 2024 Non-Event is Here!
This year Listen Foundation’s annual Non-Event fundraising campaign celebrates Rhonda Sheya and her work dedicated to helping children achieve a life of independence via Listening and Spoken Language Therapy (LST). Learn about the joy of hearing first words from a child participating in LST and help Listen Foundation reach its goals in helping as many children as possible.
We have raised special needs children for 28 years and have come in contact with more than a dozen speech therapists. However, I can assure you that the listening foundation therapists’ methodology, tenacity, and ingenious inclusion of parents in the process is so superior to other programs that it places this foundation and mission in a league of its own.
