We do hope you and all your extended family members are safe, healthy, and in good spirits.
At this time of historic stress and concern for the basic well- being of ourselves, family, friends and neighbors, I have heard that some find it helpful to pause and count your blessings. The future is so uncertain, but the Listen Foundation has much to be thankful for. I want to take a moment to acknowledge and, again, thank those who positively impact our ability to provide the critical, time sensitive therapy for the children supported by the Listen Foundation.
- Our Therapists, who continually serve the needs of the children and their families have spent over 10 years honing their tele-health skills. This dedicated effort means our therapists continue their work in a safer environment….and without interruption.
- Our Oral Communication Consultant, by hosting online workshops, is assisting other service providers that need to similarly initiate distance therapy for their clients.
- Our Funders, who provide the financial resources to meet our mission have maintained and, in some cases, expanded their financial support or amended grant restrictions. The past support of our community partners and individual donors positions Listen with needed financial flexibility as we face the evolving COVID- 19 health crisis and a deteriorating economic environment.
- And last and certainly most important, Our Listen Families! In a time of physical distancing and shuttered schools, our families adjusted almost overnight to a different model of Therapist contact.
Yes. Listen can count up its many blessings. While we did not expect anything like this situation, we are so thankful that YOU have helped prepare Listen for these stormy times.
We hope and pray for sunny days ahead. Be safe!
